Financial Aid

Nearly 80% of UIS students receive some form of financial assistance through scholarships, grants, student loans, and campus employment opportunities, helping make a UIS education both accessible and affordable. The Office of Financial Assistance is dedicated to supporting students and families throughout every stage of the financial aid process, from completing the FAFSA and understanding financial aid offers to exploring payment options and maintaining eligibility throughout enrollment.

Scholarships

UIS students have access to more than 300 donor-funded institutional scholarships that award over $1 million annually, providing additional opportunities to reduce educational costs and recognize academic achievement, leadership, service, and involvement. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA as early as possible each year and apply for institutional scholarships before the annual February 15 priority deadline to maximize their eligibility for aid.

Important Points

The Office of Financial Assistance also assists students with federal loan requirements, work-study opportunities, veteran and military education benefits, and understanding important policies related to satisfactory academic progress and enrollment changes. Because deadlines and financial aid requirements are time-sensitive, students should regularly monitor their UIS email account for important updates and respond promptly to requests for additional information. Whether students are seeking guidance for the first time or navigating changes during their academic journey, the Financial Aid team is available to provide personalized support and resources to help students succeed at UIS.

Step 3: Bursar's Office

The Bursar's Office connects students directly to their university account by helping you with understanding payment options, paying bills online, enrolling in direct deposit and signing up for optional payment plans.

Visit

University Bursar

The University Bursar is the central billing and payment office for the University of Illinois System. The office assists students with billing questions, refunds, payment options, tax documents, direct deposit enrollment, and financial literacy resources. Students should regularly monitor their UIS email for billing updates and important notifications.

Tuition payments are due each semester: • Fall – September 28 • Spring – February 28 • Summer – June 28

Students may grant parents or other individuals authorized access to view account information and make payments on their behalf through the university payment system.

Enroll in Direct Deposit

View Student Accounts / Make Online Payments

Students and authorized payers can review account activity and make online payments using e-checks, debit cards, credit cards, or Apple Pay through the university payment portal.

Payments by Mail
