Get Involved

Students can connect with campus through more than 60 student organizations, leadership programs, volunteer opportunities and signature events like Welcome Week and Homecoming. Browse organizations, discover events and stay connected through UIS Connection and the Corq app.

Safety, Support and Equity

Your well-being is a top priority. The UIS Police Department provides 24/7 law enforcement and emergency response services on campus. Students are encouraged to enroll in RAVEAlert, the university's emergency notification system, which delivers important updates through text and email.

The Dean of Students Office offers advocacy, support and assistance with student concerns, while Access & Equity promotes an inclusive campus environment and provides support related to Title IX, discrimination and ADA compliance.

Students can also find community, educational programming and opportunities to celebrate diverse identities through the Diversity Center, Women's Center and Gender & Sexual Student Services, which foster belonging, cultural awareness and meaningful connections across campus.

Family Connection

Families can stay informed and engaged through Prairie Star Family Connect, which provides important updates, campus news, deadlines and resources designed to support students throughout their UIS journey.

History & Facts

The Library

More than a place to study, The Library offers research assistance, group study spaces, computers, printing and scanning services, online databases, interlibrary loan and access to the Library of Things. Students can also borrow books, movies, eBooks and eAudiobooks to support both academic success and personal interests.

Student Union

The Student Union serves as the social hub of campus. Students gather here to dine, study, meet with organizations, attend events, grab coffee at Starbucks, play games and connect with offices that support involvement and leadership.

Residence Life

Living on campus provides opportunities to build friendships, develop independence and engage in a supportive community. UIS offers residence halls, apartments, townhomes and family housing options with amenities such as high-speed internet, free laundry, utilities included, nearby parking and ADA-accessible accommodations.
